Local History Researcher

A local history researcher from Tuovilanlahti, with a passion for preserving and bringing to life the past of Northern Savonia. Old newspapers, archival materials, documents and objects are examined in search of stories that reveal how villages, people and communities have lived in different eras.

The work is based on careful research and the versatile use of sources. The aim is to make history accessible and engaging for everyone – whether it is a village association, school, museum, company or private individual.

History doesn’t have to feel heavy – it can be vivid, engaging and inspiring. For me, local history means shared memories and roots that can foster both pride and a sense of belonging in the present day.
