The Joonas Story: Journey Around the World is a collectible book published by SOK’s coffee roastery, which appeared in the mid-1950s. The work is designed for attaching collectible cards to the pages of the book.
The book is a small stapled publication with illustrated pages and spaces (empty spots) for collectible pictures to be glued in. The idea is that the collector buys or gathers cards (from coffee packages, advertising images, etc.) and completes the book by gluing them in the correct places. This makes the book a “process book” – it is not just a finished story, but partly an interactive participation book for the collector.
Part I of the book was published in 1954.
Part II, published in 1955, is also a well-known collectible item.
